When a family photo shoot includes the dogs, you know you’ve found your kind of people. Heck, if I could own 3 kittens and a horse, I’d be the happiest woman alive. The funniest part is finding out a dog is camera shy.
It was 4C when I left for this portrait photo shoot one icy August morning… FOUR DEGREES! With a biting wind to add an extra edge to the cold, I was worried that my client, the lovely Clarinda, was going to freeze in this less than hospitable weather. But she braved the cold in her eye-catching dress with a winning smile and posed with such grace and poise. Clarinda, you deserve a medal!
I can’t get over Elijah’s smile. He’s the littlest of the Sishi clan, but he is the epitome of gap-toothed cuteness! And then adding the gorgeous Kendra into the mix with her confident little strut… Best of all, was getting a smile out of Aaron-John (it’s tough to be a too-cool pre-teen!) Seeing these three interact, laugh and play with their parents – the incredibly talented Ed and Clarinda – well, let’s face it: the Sishis were a fabulously fun family to photograph.
Guys, there is little else that can make this photographer so happy as seeing the people I am photographing having fun and loving life as well as each other. And THIS family… wow! From their beautifully co-ordinated outfits to the big smiles that wreathed their faces, they just enjoyed each other. As I snapped away, I could help but marvel at how the Waterstons celebrated their relationships, their closeness and the uniqueness of each member of their family. Really, this shoot was something special.
When a friend you’ve known for nearly 20 years says “Please do a family shoot for us?” and you know how darn CUTE their kids are… you just can’t say no. Plus, Tracy has a heart of gold – anyone who has the honour of calling her friend can testify to her genuine kindness, her heart which overflows with warmth and that she is so generous with her love.
First-time parents Greea and Werner couldn’t wait to meet their little man! I met them one mid-August afternoon for a maternity shoot in Irene, and with some beautiful golden light, we captured some precious moments a few weeks before he was born.
The Abadirs are a very special little family of four, and they’re about to expand to five on 11 July! From mom and dad to big brother and sister, everyone got involved for the Abadir family and maternity photo shoot in Pretoria. We had a beautiful photo session in a shady little glen, giving this shoot a fairytale forest feel.
Is your little one about to celebrate a birthday and you need to find a photographer for children’s birthday parties in Pretoria? Bamboo Shoot Photography specialises in lifestyle photo shoots, including children’s birthday parties. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of taking photos for a very special little girl’s birthday. Her mother, Mondi, put up an SOS on Facebook, looking for a photographer for children’s birthday parties in Pretoria. We connected through a mutual friend and what a pleasure to meet this incredibly talented woman and her little beauty, Nova-Mae!
